Students have responsible roles to play: WPC member

Addressing a newly refurbished classroom at St. Mathew’s College, Colombo, Western Provincial Councillor and Pragna Pradeepa Concept founder Jayantha de Silva said school defence committees, parents and students themselves have a role to play in protecting their school by being vigilant about suspicious activities.

Speaking further, Mr. de Silva said today’s students who will be the leaders of tomorrow should learn to respect and obey their leaders to ensure a disciplined nation. He made this remark referring to some present day politicians who act and speak in an irresponsible manner, not realizing the long term consequences.

St. Mathew’s Principal U. B. Wickremaratne and members of the staff also attended the event.
