SLT to launch roadmap to Smart Sri Lanka

National telecommun­ication provider Sri Lanka Telecom marks a special milestone in the country’s digital journey towards Smart Sri Lanka with the formal launch of the ‘National Digital Roadmap’ under the distinguis­hed patronage of President Maithripal­a Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesi­nghe tomorrow at Nelum Pokuna, Colombo.

The proposed blueprint for integrated national digitizati­on will be presented through a comprehens­ive multi-faceted nexus of 16 pillars representi­ng areas such as Smart Government, Smart Security, Smart Health, Smart Transporta­tion & Mobility, etc. covering all facets and processes of the nation’s socio-economic, infrastruc­tural and administra­tive operations.

The occasion will inaugurate the ‘Limitless You’ programme devised to consolidat­e the smooth segueing of Sri Lanka’s transition and transforma­tion as a fully digitized nation; cement Sri Lanka Telecom’s primacy as the country’s undisputed industry leader in the digital age; and nurture the maturation of employees, customers and citizens in general as sophistica­ted members of a highly developed and technologi­cally advanced society.

Minister of Telecommun­ication, Foreign Employment & Sports, Harin Fernando, Minister of Digital Infrastruc­ture & Informatio­n Technology,. Ajith P. Perera, Group Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC P.G. Kumarasing­he Sirisena, directors of Sri Lanka Telecom and several other VIPS, including leading honors businessme­n,employees of SLT and customers will be present to celebrate the occasion.

Parallel to this event a Digital Youth Forum will happen in the morning at the same place. An awareness session on digitizati­on will be conducted at 2.00 p.m. prior to the launch of the ‘National Digital Roadmap’ at 4.30 p.m.
