NAVANANDANA WIJESINGHE
The 7th death anniversary of veteran character actor Navanandana Wijesinghe who made significant contributions to local films, tele dramas and stage plays for more than five decades, falls on June 16. The Colombo Maligakanda Vidyalaya old boy started acting in school plays and made his first public appearance in 1940. He acted in stage plays like Anuragaya, Manthri Hamuduruwo, Bodimkarayo, Janelaya, Rankendiya, Rathu Hettakari and others. He made his film debut in 1959 acting in Gehenu Geta.
