VINDY WAITING FOR AUDIENCE REACTION

-

Vindy Madapatha who is making her acting debut in Iran Godamunne’s ‘Secret of the Rose’, says she’s so excited about the whole project and is looking forward to the reaction of the people once the film hits the silver screen. “This role is indeed a big challenge. I have no background in films, other than a few fashion shoots I have done for me for fun. I play the role of Natalie and I want the people to remember me as Natalie and not Vindy. It was quite an experience working with debutant director Iran who showed so much of promise and maturity in his directorial tasks. I did my best to recreate Natalie. My personal judgement about Natalie is that’s she’s very insecure, mostly about her child and even in the romantic parts. It’s a trait of a single mom in any part of the world, I guess,” said Vindy. ‘Iran gave me the freedom to bring out the best using my natural abilities and never tried to force anything out of me. I just lived the character. Working opposite Roshan Ravindra was another huge experience. I was nervous initially, but working opposite him made me so comfortable. Iran comes from my same town, Kandy. He is very genuine and so is his mother Dhammi Godamunne who hails from a respected family,” she said. “I was out of the country from 1999 and came back after studies in 2004. I had no big idea about Sri Lankan cinema. I recently watched ‘According to Mathew’ and was quite impressed. I live outside Sri Lanka. I teach music at a British school in the UAE. I am a Visharada in Hindustani music too. I am also a singer. I have done my first cover ‘ Sanda Midunu’ but am yet to do a visual,” said Vindy.
