“I’m just waiting for the right script. I’ll be doing one soon. You’ll hear from me soon”

His debut Hollywood film - Ken Scott’s The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir - is all set to hit screens on June 21, and Dhanushcouldn’t be a happier man. The actor was recently in Mumbai to attend the trailer launch of the film, and when it was pointed out that his Bollywood debut, Raanjhanaa, also released on June 21, Dhanush quipped, “My son was also born on June 21. There are several ‘releases’ on that date.” When a reporter asked Dhanush why he hasn’t signed on a Hindi film after Shamitabh, he said, “I’m just waiting for the right script. I’ll be doing one soon. You’ll hear from me soon.” On being asked if he’s read Romain Puertolas’s The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe, on which the English film is based, Dhanush said, “I didn’t want to read the book until I finished the film. I’ve finished the film and I’m yet to read the book. I will soon read it. I’m just held up doing one of the toughest films.” It’s interesting to note that Dhanush is presently shooting for Asuran, which is being directed by Vetri Maaran.
