STRONG WINDS CAUSE DAMAGE TO HOUSES, CROPS

Atotal of ten houses were damaged due to strong winds experienced in the Kimbulawela GS Division within the Siyambalanduwa Divisional Secretary’s Division.,

Residents of the area said that the gusty winds that

was experienced yesterday evening continued through out the night.

.As a result, Jack trees, coconut trees and pepper cultivation suffered damage, it is reported.

Assistant Director Raveendra Kumara of the Disaster Management Unit said that a team of officers had been deployed to check the damages caused to houses and cultivation.
