Kangaroo Cabs adds electric cars; celebrates 30 years

The pioneer in shaping the cab service industry and also the giant service provider in Sri Lanka, Kangaroo Cabs recently celebrated its 30th anniversar­y ceremonial­ly, introducin­g fully electric cabs to its fleet in line with the ‘Go Green’ concept.

Occupying 73 percent of the cab/taxi market share at present, the company has been accredited with ISO 9001: 2015 certificat­e. Ensuring passenger safety and comfort, Kangaroo Cabs has expanded to meet various requiremen­ts in the market such as Kangaroo Vans, Budget Meter Taxi and City Taxi and Kangaroo Tuk.

The company commenced its operation in 1988 and recognised the passengers’ need and introduced the hiring cabs service and a metered taxi service for the first time in Sri Lanka. Focused on the customers’ requiremen­ts, Kangaroo Cabs is well equipped with the latest technology by setting up the 24/7 customer support centre, fully-fledged phone app (Android and Apple Store) for bookings, thus introducin­g prompt solutions for all customer segments.

The website of the company was launched in 2012 and Kangaroo Cabs has become the only cab service in Sri Lanka to offer reservatio­n facility via Whatsapp and Skype. Under the direction of Chairman and Managing Director Sunil Fonseka, Executive Director/finance Director Kusal Fonseka and Director Operations Thushara Fonseka, Kangaroo Cabs provides 100 percent trusted quality service to customers with continuous training and workshop for nearly 3000 drivers and 150 permanent staff.
