His assistance was disdained!

-

Several days following the Easter Sunday suicide bombings, a certain purohita leading a minor political party gave a phone call to a young Green Diyawanna member looking after a maritime electorate in the Gampaha District.

The caller, a controversial politico who later had to resign his portfolio told the young Diyawanna member, a Doctor of Medicine by the way, that he was keen on offering financial assistance to the families, whose members were either killed or injured in the Easter Sunday bomb attacks.

The young member got livid when he heard the offer being made by the minor party leader whose past conduct had already come under suspicion. He immediately switched off the phone without answering the call.

The minor party leader did not call the young member thereafter, they say.
