Reception at the Grand
Sharon and Raj Rajendra gave their son Kevin and his bride
Bernadette, beautiful in a saree which suited her to perfection, a fabulous reception at the Cinnamon
Grand, when they came to Colombo after their wedding in Australia. The bride's mother, brother, relatives and friends came too from Australia, undeterred by travel warnings as their love for the bride and happiness in her choice of bridegroom overshadowed all warnings of danger. They loved our country and the warm hospitality here. It was indeed a lovely wedding, speeches were
short, not boring, humourous and in impeccable English.
Sharon, Raj, their daughter Tania, and Sharon's
sister Tishani had gone out on a limb to ensure perfection in every detail. Among guests were Sohli Captain, Rohan and Suhashini Victoria, Amal and Shyamali Tudawe, Carlo and Vathani Ponnambalam, Dr Kandaswamy
and Padmini, Sandya Weerasinghe and many others. The evening ended with dancing and the surprise entrance of a papare band. The food, flowers, service were also excellent.
