Thief arrested with stolen items

A person who had stolen a water pump and a weighing scale from a house in Millannewa area in Girandurukotte was arrested by the police yesterday.

The man had broken into a house during Saturday afternoon when its occupants were away, had stolen the goods which he had later taken to his own home.

Girandurukotte Police acting on a complaint lodged by the occupants of the burgled house had managed to trace the burglar with the help of

CCTV video footage.

The suspect would be produced before Mahiyangana Magistrate’s Courts.
