ST. JOSEPH’S MV AND BANDIWEWA MV COME OUT ON TOP
The district tournament of the U-12 Milo Football Championships conducted to select players for the first ever Milo Championship Football Cup scheduled to be held in China saw St.joseph’s MV Anuradhapura and Bandiwewa MV Polonnaruwa come out on top in the boys’ and girls’ categories at the North Central Province championships which ended recently.
Bandiwewa MV Polonnaruwa, Vivekananda Tamil MV Anuradhapura, Zahira MV Anuradhapura, Nagara MV Polonnaruwa, Gamini MV Polonnaruwa, St. Joseph’s Primary and Vilayaya MV Polonnaruwa were the other six teams to qualify in the boys’ category while in the girls’ category Vilayaya MV Polonnaruwa, Kadawala MV Polonnaruwa, Suwarnapali Girls’ National School, Nagara MV Polonnaruwa and Kudanelubawa MV Polonnaruwa made it to the quarter finals.

overcame Vilayaya Polonnaruwain the girls’ final. The top players from all the provincial tournaments will be selected for the coaching camp which the organizers have planned and will culminate with eight talented players being selected, who will get an opportunity of a lifetime to participate along with players from Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Pakistan, Colombia, Chile, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago to name a few at the Milo Champions Football Cup to be held in China.
Sixty players comprising of 32 boys and 28 girls were selected for the coaching camp after the completion:

The teams that will contest for the final will be selected after the completion of the provincial tournaments which are in progress now. The finals are scheduled to be held on June 22 and 23 at the Nawalapitiya Public ground.
