ACJU uses Al-taqqiya to mislead Parliament: BBS

-

The Ulama Leader mislead parliament, media, general public and the international community with a false accusation saying that Islamic youth moved to ISIS ideology

Issuing a special statement, the Bodu Bala Sena organisation yesterday said that All Ceylon Jammiyathul Ulama (ACJU) President Rizvi Mufti had misled the parliament, media, general public and the international community by using Al-taqqiya during his testimony before the Parliamentary Select Committee probing Easter attacks.

Al-taqqiya is a precautionary dissimulation or denial of religious belief and practice in the face of persecution. Referring to a statement made by ACJU President Rizvi Mufti before the PSC on Tuesday (11), BBS alleged as Mufti saying it was the activities by BBS that led to innocent Muslim youth joining ISIS extremism.

While giving a statement at the PSC, Mufti said, their youth community had drawn their attention to the ISIS due to the hate speeches made against the Muslim community.

“The Ulama Leader mislead parliament, media, general public and the international community with a false accusation saying that Islamic youth moved to ISIS ideology. The BBS is categorically denied his allegations and invite him for a public debate,” its statement said.

“While misleading the PSC, the ACJU is trying to pretend that the Ulama community has more purity events to visit God with their physical body. We look at such statements with sympathy and kindness, because it is the Ulamas who aided the dissemination of Wahhabism in this country,” the BBS charged.

BBS also urged the ACJU to stop spreading ‘hateful lies’ unless they wish for the ‘naked truth about Ulamas and Al-taqqiya to be made public’.

They point to the fact that while BBS was established in 2012, Chief Moulavi of Kattankudy mosque stated before the PSC that terrorist Zaharan was a proponent of radical and religious extremism even before 2012.

If the ACJU continuously try to put their blame on the BBS, we would not hesitate to expose the real truth behind ACJU and their Al-taqqiya. We have all kinds of documents to prove that ACJU was accused of all sorts of activities during the Easter Sunday attack, the statement further added.
