Paris Deputy Mayor meets John
Deputy Mayor of Paris Jean Francois Martins was on a brief visit to Sri Lanka from June 5-6 to meet the senior government officials and key private sector leaders on Sri Lanka’s tourism revival strategy, following the Easter Sunday terror attacks in the country.
The deputy mayor held discussions with Tourism Minister John Amaratunga and the Cabinet Subcommittee on Tourism last week at the ministry.
World Bank Country Director Dr. Idah Pswarayiriddihough, Finance State Minister Eran Wickremarathne, Tourism State Minister Ranjith Jinatissa Aluwihare and Tourism Advisory Body Chairman Harry Jayawardena also participated in the discussions.
Martins visited Sri Lanka on the invitation of the Sri Lankan government, to share the lessons learnt from Paris’ own experience managing communications and security expectations following a series of coordinated terror attacks in the city in 2015.
