GIRL, FIVE, GETS TRAPPED IN A CLAW MACHINE
DAILYMAIL,25 JUNE,2019 - A five-year-old girl got trapped inside a claw machine in southeast China after a desperate attempt to win a Pikachu plush toy.
The girl was at the shopping mall’s arcade in Dongguan, Guangdong province with her mother and two siblings last Thursday when the accident happened, according to Chinese reports.
Footage of the bizarre incident shows the child’s head poking through the opening in the corner of the transparent cabinet while waiting calmly to be rescued. She was reunited with her mother after 30 minutes.police received a report from shocked witnesses at around 6pm saying that a child was trapped inside a claw machine at the Huixing Commercial Center, according to Guangdong Public Channel.
After assessing the situation, officers and paramedics concluded that the girl was not in any immediate danger as there was good ventilation inside the crane, officer Ouyang Weiliang told reporters.
Fortunately, a staff member was able to locate their manager, who arrived with a key to unlock the door of the cabinet. He carefully
lifted the girl out of the machine and she was unharmed.
The mother brought her three children to the mall but failed to pay attention to the girl, who is her eldest daughter.
‘The child really liked one of the yellow soft toys in the machine but didn’t know how to get one,’ officer Ouyang said.
‘So she saw an opening and crawled inside in order to get one,’ he said.
The claw machine has since been removed from the arcade at the request of police, the report added.
