ENT UNDERGRADUATES OF USJP VISIT IDM NATIONS CAMPUS

The second year undergraduates of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, visited IDM Nations Campus, Colombo 6, recently as part of their academic study to interact and engage with entrepreneurs, to further enhance their knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship. The Chairman/ceo of IDM Nations Campus, Mr. Janagan Vinayagamoorthy, conducted a short lecture, and the undergraduates followed it up with a ‘Question and Answer’ session. As undergraduates following a degree in Entrepreneurship and dreaming to be successful game changers and revolutionary venture creators, they benefitted immensely from the session. This interactive and handson session was part of their ongoing studies, to boost and sharpen both their entrepreneurial and soft skills, in a bid to make them versatile graduates and entrepreneurs, who are an asset to the development of Mother Lanka. Department of Entrepreneurship was established on the 18th of October 2010 as an academic department of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura with the intention of generating ‘job creators’ or ‘entrepreneurs’ rather than ‘job seekers.’

The programme was organized and coordinated by the Coordinator for English, Department of Entrepreneurship, Dr. Lishanthi Wijewardene, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. (LW)
