INDRAJITH NAVINNA
The first death anniversary of veteran actor Indrajith Navinna falls on August 8. 1947-born Navinna started acting in school plays at Nikaweratiya Mahasen Vidyalaya. In 1977 he acted in his first stage play ‘Loketa Lokka’ directed by Nishantha de Alwis. He started his film career in Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne’s ‘Sathara Pera Nimithi’ and K. A. W. Perera’s ‘Wathura Karaththaya’. Later he proved his acting prowess in Ranmalige Wasanawa, Mihidum Salu, Doreenge Sayanaya, Podi Wije, Kelimadala, Sisila Gini Ganee, Loku Duwa, Aswesuma, Sudu Kaluwara and others. Among his noteworthy tele dramas were Pahan Tharuwa, Dhawala Rathriya, Avindu Andura, Ambu Semiyo and Niranandaya.
