A VISIT WITH “CREATIVE CRAFTS”

-

“Mom-entrepreneurs” are the face of the future. Whilst many new mothers are staying at home to raise their children, they are also kick starting a novel phase in the business realm, those of mom-entrepreneurs. Equipped with an equal amount of talent and determination, these new mothers are flourishing in their home business. One such mother I was privileged to meet was

Shanaz Rushdi, who runs an online business called “Creative Crafts”. Creative Crafts is a home based business that produces modern and quirky hand stitched felt items for the baby market. Their main focus is to create unique products with unique designs taking into account customers wants and wishes.

Shanaz has always been a creative person, indulging in little handcrafted projects for her friends and relatives.

Shanaz says she grew up in a very artistic and creative environment in which her mother was always creating something, whether it be indulging in new recipes to stitching clothes and even putting together bridal bouquets and wedding cake structures she was influenced by her mother's abilities and was keen to forge out on her own. With encouragement from family she took her interests a step further and set up Creative Crafts which indulges customers' ideas into fruition.

Wanting to make her avid pastime commercially viable, Shanaz through, her home business,

Creative Crafts introduced much welcomed baby products and other decorational ornaments. As every mother knows, when putting together a child’s nursery or room we are always looking for a mix of practicals well as artistically designed items to add that certain vibe in your baby’s nursery. At Creative Crafts, Shanaz has managed to find the balance of both, with cute custom made cot mobiles to educational wall hangings to beautifully designed throw pillows, just to name a few.

Shanaz credits the internet for many of her design influences, but the home business does work closely in bringing a customer’s ideas to life. Potential customers are able to get in-touch with her through her Facebook page, once the idea has been discussed Shanaz will add her influences and other details like price and time allotted will be discussed. She is always happy to work along with the client in putting their ideas into fruition. Some of her most popular products are the baby décor items, such as cot mobiles, these can be customised to fit an individual nursery, taking in the colour scheme and theme of choice. Shanaz says she is always influenced by her friends and family and credits her children’s choices in keeping her creativity going.

In the future, Creative crafts is looking to expand their product line that they have to offer with new creative designs. Next time you are are looking for that cute looking item to jazz up your child’s room, give Creative Crafts a shout! https://www.facebook.com/creativecrafts1982/
