BOARD XI, NEW ZEALAND
WARM-UP GAME FROM TODAY
The visiting New Zealand Cricket Team will warm-up ahead of the First Test against Sri Lanka when they take on the Sri Lanka Board President’s (SLBP) XI in a threeday game starting at the FTZ Grounds in Katunayake today. New Zealand led by Kane Williamson will no doubt look to take advantage of this game ahead of their two-test series which is also part of the World Test Championship that has been introduced by the
International Cricket Council (ICC). Batsmen of the calibre of Skipper Williamson, Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls, Jeet Raval, Tom Blundell, Bradley Walting and all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme will be the cynosure of all eyes for New Zealand in this threeday encounter.
The SLBP XI will be led by Ashan Priyanjan and the team includes a host of upcoming youngsters who have been knocking at the door.
This will be a great opportunity for them to showcase their talent and be in the radar of the national selectors.
