LANKAN WILDLIFE DOCUMENTARY

“W ILD SRI LANKA - REALM OF THE LEOPARD”, a wildlife documentary film, will air on Discovery Asia for the first time from this month, from August 22 to 29 in South East Asia. The film was produced by Sri Lankan based production company Aegle Creations (Pvt) Ltd, and took more than two years to complete, said writer/ director of the film Thivanka Rukshan Perera. This wildlife film depicts the life style of the Sri Lankan leopard, a subspecies unique to Sri Lanka, and highlights the potential hazards and environmental threats faced by the species. The documentary, “WILD SRI LANKA - REALM OF THE LEOPARD,” which spans around 50 minutes, captures breathtaking visuals of Sri Lanka’s natural beauty and wildlife. Its international distribution and promotion is handled by EARTH TOUCH in UK. Aegle Creations has produced a number of documentaries currently screening around the world, and has won various accolades in the past. Special promotional videos featuring the nature and wildlife of Sri Lanka were also presented to Sri Lankan Airlines In-flight Entertainment and Sri Lanka Tourism promotion purposes. The film will also be distributed in France, Italy, Korea, Japan, Australia, the US and Canada over the next few years, and it was recently presented to BBC Earth for consideration. Aegle Creations is currently working on a historical/wildlife documentary based on a notorious man-eating leopard that terrorized the village of Punanai back in the 1920’s.
