ELVIS PRESLEY

42nd Death Anniversary

-

At this time of the year, August 16th, thousands of Elvis fans gather at Graceland to take part in various exciting activities organised by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. in connection with Elvis’ death anniversary.

The Elvis legacy grows with the passage of time, the one who not only changed the music scene forever, but also brought about a new social order, as well. Elton John puts it this way, “He completely changed the way I felt about music. He combined everything that a star needs: looks, charisma, talent and originality. He broke the ice for all of us.” Also, John Lennon once said, “Before Elvis there was nothing. No nothing. Whatever the people say, he’s it. Those who picked up paint brushes wanted to be Van Gough. I wanted to be Elvis. Nothing affected me until I heard Elvis. If there hasn’t been Elvis, there wouldn’t have been the Beatles.

Elvis is the only artiste inducted into four most prestigious Halls of Fame Rock & Roll, Country Music, Grammy and Gospel, Halls of Fame. He is not only the ‘King of Rock & Roll” but King all-around that’s why people say

“Elvis is the

King Forever”

The local Elvis Presley Fan Club managed by Jayaratne Perera as its president, has been in operation long before Elvis’ demise, and in recognising of its efforts in keeping Elvis legacy alive, the Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (Graceland) has issued a beautiful certificate as seen below. In the meantime, if you wish to have a beautiful colour brochure about Graceland free, simply give a call to Jayaratne on 2795997.
