This is a unique opportunity for local professionals as it is the first time such a large group of experts in these fields will be present in Sri Lanka.

The International Placewell Consultants (IPC) is hosting the inaugural Australian Sports Physiotherapy Programme in Sri Lanka, in partnership with the Elite Akademy Sports Medicine based at the University of Melbourne.

Supported by the Australian Trade Commission together with the Victorian Government and La Trobe University, Melbourne, this event is scheduled to take place from September 20 to 22, 2019.

It will include a half-day seminar as well as an intensive two-day course complete with clinical practice sessions and an introduction to and training in the latest Australian techniques.

The seminar will focus on the management of sports injuries, the developments in sports physiotherapy assessment, treatment, analysis, rehabilitation principles and research from Australia. A highlight of the programme will be an expert panel discussion featuring prominent sports scientists and specialists in physiotherapy and sports technology from Australia, which will take place during the seminar.

The course will be conducted by Kusal Goonewardena (Sports Physiotherapist and Head of Sports Medicine - Elite Akademy Sports Medicine, Melbourne) and Dr. Henry Wajswelner (Specialist Sports Physiotherapist and Head of the Master of Sports Physiotherapy - La Trobe University).
