Asiri Medical Hospital, recognized as the parent and the oldest of the Asiri Group’s seven hospitals, marked over three decades of compassionate, efficient and affordable private healthcare service, with a comprehensive refurbishment of its Outpatient facilities.

The new layout, modern design and ambiance offer patrons an enhanced healthcare experience.

The massive renovation project features newly reimagined areas including the outpatient and diagnostic spaces, consultation rooms, the spacious pharmacy with road frontage, expansive seating and waiting areas, a separate pediatric consultation area and vaccination room.

Additionally, properties adjacent to the hospital have been acquired and developed as car parking facilities, ensuring convenient drop-off points and easy patient accessibility. All refurbishments when completed will cost approximately Rs. 2 billion.

“The well-thought-out renovations ensure Asiri Medical Hospital remains the leader in advanced, patient-centered care. We have completed phases 1 and 2 with significant investment to ensure that through the upgraded outpatient diagnostic rooms, the latest technologies and other facilities, we have created the optimal environment to offer the best in patient care,” said Dr. Samanthi de Silva, Director Operations, Asiri Hospital Holdings.

The hospital has completely redesigned and expanded its entire diagnostic area for easier access and more than doubled its square footage to better accommodate patients while reducing waiting time. The newly refurbished phlebotomy area features eight cubicles for sample collection, advanced testing capabilities and state-of-the-art equipment, in addition to a comfortable waiting area.

The renovation strategically places the pharmacy to offer walk-in access from the road. The 24-hour pharmacy which is open to the public, offers a comprehensive range of pharmaceutical and related products to meet the entire spectrum of customer and patient needs.

To better serve patients, facilities of the Asiri Diabetes Centre were also enhanced. Offering holistic services for diabetics, the centre ensures patients have access to full-time doctors in addition to a panel of endocrinologists.

Adopting a multi-disciplinary approach in diabetes care, basic and advanced screening packages, follow-up and specialized services, foot care, eye clinics, counselling and nutrition advice are offered. Understanding the paramount importance of foot care for diabetic patients, the hospital offers-customized footwear tailored for individual needs.

The OPD also houses the Children’s Respiratory Disease Centre. Offering assistance to children with complex respiratory conditions, a team of caregivers led by a pediatrician provide a thorough assessment of the full spectrum of respiratory conditions, including any chest problems, asthma, lung disease, etc., with regular follow up, ensuring children receive the best outcomes.

The Asiri vaccination room is recognized as one of the most trustworthy places offering pediatric immunization programmes. Located on the first floor of the hospital, the spacious vaccination room is efficient and child friendly.

The ‘Antenatal Programme’ which was introduced by Asiri Medical over a year ago continues to grow in popularity among expectant parents.

The 4-week educational programme is conducted by a team of consultants, midwives, dieticians, pharmacists, physiotherapists and qualified nurses.

Parents-to-be are encouraged to participate. The course is offered free of any cost or obligation and every couple has access to a single point contact, the ‘mother and baby coordinator’ for any support and guidance they may need.

Committed inits mission to provide a patient-focused service, Asiri Medical will shortly begin the next phase of its renovation plans with the refurbishment and upgrading of in-patient rooms.

Another-important plan on the horizon is Asiri Medical’s collaboration with Nova IVI Fertility, India’s second largest IVF chain, to offer Sri Lankans a range of the very latest fertility treatment and services.
