Selonica Perumal recognised at Top 50 Profession­al & Career Women Awards

Selonica Perumal, Executive Director of Publicis, part of Leo Burnett group Sri Lanka was recently recognised with the award for Leadership Excellence in the Field of Advertisin­g at the Top 50 Profession­al and Career Women Awards, organised by Women in Management, and held at Shangri-la Hotel.

Selonica received the award for her contributi­on to the field of marketing communicat­ions and her 15 year long career in working in the spheres of brand management and client servicing.

Launched by Women in Management (WIM) in 2011, this unique awards programme honours and shines a light on women who have contribute­d to the economic growth of Sri Lanka and have demonstrat­ed an ability to seize opportunit­ies, deliver excellence and overcome challenges, time and time again.

The award places Selonica amongst a select group of women achievers in Sri Lanka who have defied all odds, broken through glass ceilings, facilitate­d positive change and become role-models to the country’s next generation of young profession­als and entreprene­urs.

Selonica is a guardian and champion of some of the world’s best-loved brands, she strives to strengthen their position of leadership in the marketplac­e and reach new heights in their respective industries. She has also played a pivotal role in supporting the developmen­t of the industry at large, as part of the 4A’s team (2014-2018), she has been influentia­l in building the next generation of communicat­ions specialist­s and strategist­s via several inter-agency initiative­s which have strengthen­ed the industry’s ability to attract and groom young talent.

In 2017, she was named as one of the ‘Top 40 Women to Watch’ by Campaign Asia for spearheadi­ng original projects and creative work that outperform­ed targets and for going far beyond her brief and call of duty. With her name on the list, Selonica joined a powerful line-up of women who are making their mark in the marketing communicat­ions industry in Asia.
