EC must also ban strikes and rallies

-

The Elections Commission (EC) has banned all Government programmes, appointments, promotions and functions organised to promote political advantages-dm news item.

However, there are many anti-government protest rallies and wild cat strikes coming up all over the country aimed at taking advantage at the Presidential Election. Recently we saw in the news media that PM had alleged that some organisation leaders had received huge sums of money to their bank accounts for organising wild-cat strikes and protest rallies.these can be termed as functions and thamashas of the Opposition organised to promote their party at the election, by bringing disrepute and wrath of the people towards the Government. These are disrupting people’s daily lives of the common man, who try to put their bread on the table. (Not like politicos – when they snap their fingers money and precious stones come to their door-step from Government coffers or even from Gods above) and the aim is to get people’s support to the Opposition candidate. Therefore, as a member of the general public, I urge the EC to ban all strikes and protest rallies temporarily if there is equal and fair play in banning Govt. functions
