Japan put up a splendid performanc­e to clinch the Cup Championsh­ip at the Asian Sevens Rugby Series final-leg worked off at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo. Japan continued their dominance once again and went on to beat their arch rivals Hong Kong 17-12 in a thrilling Cup final encounter. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka had to be content with the fourth-place as they suffered a 12-27 defeat at the hands of China in the third-place playoff.
