Sangeeth, Kamindu help Sri Lanka A make bold reply

Sangeeth Cooray and Kamindu Mendis combined to help Sri Lanka A make a bold reply of 204 for 2 in reply to Bangladesh A’s score of 360 at stumps on the second day of the 1st unofficial Test played at the Sooriyawew­a Stadium.

Cooray made a 151-ball knock of 104 that included 15 boundaries while Mendis remained unbeaten on 79 from 141 balls inclusive of eight boundaries. The pair associated in a valuable 165-run stand for the second wicket after Sri Lanka A lost their first wicket with the score on 17.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh A, resuming from their overnight score of 270 for 6, were guided by Mehidy Hasan who made a knock of 57 and Soumya Sarkar, who added 49 runs for the seventh wicket for the visitors, to end with a score of 360 runs. The match will be continued today. -MSA
