Samsung and key partners represent Sri Lanka at IFA 2019 in Berlin

IFA, Europe’s biggest tech show was held in Berlin from September 6 to 11, 2019, and is one of the most significan­t global events for product launches.

One of its principal attraction­s was Samsung’s latest technology innovation­s which are unveiled annually at the event. Samsung’s showcase at IFA 2019, united under the theme of ‘Connected Living’, was a particular­ly special one as the company celebrated its 50th anniversar­y this year.

The portfolio of innovative solutions and devices the company presented this year is a testament to the company’s continued dedication to optimising consumers’ lives through seamless connectivi­ty and state-ofthe-art technologi­es.

Committed to developing and enhancing businesses of its key partners, Samsung Sri Lanka invited key local partners to join the IFA 2019 this year to witness Samsung’s newest innovation­s at the leading trade show. Samsung Sri Lanka Managing Director Kevin Sunsu You led a team of its key partners: Singer Sri Lanka CEO Mahesh Wijewarden­e, Singhagiri CEO Pubudu Basnayake and Softlogic Commercial Director Nirmalan Poothatham­by, to Messe Berlin this year. Samsung’s booth during IFA 2019, ‘Samsung Town’ comprised of a range of interactiv­e exhibits for visitors to get a hands-on look at the company’s lifestyle and smart home appliances, mobile devices, network innovation­s, B2B solutions, TVS and more.

Samsung has been breaking new ground in smartphone technology in recent months. The latest addition to Samsung’s flagship note series, the Galaxy Note10, comes equipped with an S Pen that can do more than ever before. Visitors to the Galaxy Note10 zone at IFA 2019 were hands-on with a Galaxy Note10+ and enjoyed the reflective ceiling of the exhibit while remotely taking a selfie with the S Pen’s new Air actions function. In the Lifestyle zone, QLED 8K Square showcased Samsung’s full line-up of industry-leading QLED 8K TVS. Thanks to Samsung’s proprietar­y Quantum Processor 8K and QLED Panel, each of the six models - 65, 75, 82, 85 and 98-inch, and the new 55-inch model - are able to provide an astounding level of immersion and reality to the viewing experience.

A special display in the Lifestyle Zone marries the chameleon-like abilities of The Serif’s display with the Berlin bear, the symbol of the city of Berlin. Visitors did their best impression of the local icon while learning more about Samsung’s diverse display offering.

Since it officially entered the Sri Lankan market, Samsung, a global digital technology leader, has not only enhanced its brand presence and built a strong product portfolio, but it has establishe­d an expanded channel and service network as well.

The company’s key retail partners of Singer, Singhagiri, Softlogic, Damro ensure that Samsung electronic products and smartphone­s can be accessed easily by customers even in far-flung areas of the country. Samsung’s extensive presence in the country has enabled it to customise its products to suit the aspiration­s of its customers.
