Japan Sri Lanka Industrial Development Centre organizes seminar on packaging
The Japan Lanka Industrial Development Centre has come forward to support the Sri Lankan SME sector to enhance their knowledge on packaging technology by organizing and sponsoring a 2-day seminar on ‘Packaging for Export’ in Colombo on November 1 and 2.
The contents of this seminar has been planned by a team of packaging experts from the Association of Packaging consultants who has taken the responsibility of conducting the seminar with a view to explore wider scopes of improvements to the SME sector along with information for improvements on the packaging technology for export such as presentation packaging, transport packaging, packaging design based on the consumer needs etc.
It is also planned to touch upon a wide range of other topics during this 2-day programme that will help an exporter already engaged in exporting his products to understand his shortcomings and to enhance the advancement knowledge and for an individual who is planning to capture an export market for his produce to get a basic knowledge on the subject of Packaging for Export.
Some of the other major areas that will be taken up by the resource persons at this seminar for the benefit of the participants will be: Structure of package, Different packaging material used in the industry, Packaging as a communication tool, Selecting the market, Technical elements like labeling, marking, coding and printing, Environmental aspects, Packaging standards and health, Guidelines for packaging food products for export, Tampering, packaging and the world trading system, Eco-packaging and eco-labeling, Sustainable packaging etc.
The seminar will be held at the INGRIN Institute of Printing & Graphics from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. both days.
