Katukurund­a Circuit Meet tomorrow

The Katukurund­a Circuit Meet 2019 will be worked out at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Katukurund­a tomorrow (November 24) in collaborat­ion with Sri Lanka Auto Sport Drivers Associatio­n (SLADA) for the 12th consecutiv­e year.

This racing event is now renowned as one of the best motor racing events in the calendar.

The competitio­n will be worked off at the Katukurund­a Airstrip, now renowned as a premier motor racing venue, with the participat­ion of the big names in the local racing scene as well as a massive crowd to witness the event that showcased some fantastic driving skills on the tarmac track.

time. It is a track, full of challenges for both the competitor as well as machine. The long stretches and sharp corners need skill and courage to conquer and emerge a winner. This Katukurund­a track provides a safe and trying experience, in particular, to novice drivers daring to take up the sport.

The monies generated through the sponsorshi­p and collection at the gates and all other income of the event will be channeled to the Seva Vanitha Unit of the SLAF to be used for charitable events for needy segments of society and for welfare of SLAF families.

Bank of Ceylon (BOC) came forward as the main sponsor of the Rotherham Circuit Meet 2019, while National Savings Bank (NSB) and CEAT were on board as co- sponsors of the event.
