Unilever Sri Lanka signs MOU with J’pura University

In line with its notable objective of nurturing and empowering a generation of future corporate leaders, Unilever Sri Lanka recently has signed an MOU with the Marketing Department of the University of Sri Jayawarden­apura.

The newly formed synergy will reaffirm Unilever’s commitment to developing a repertoire of skills and competenci­es among undergradu­ates across Sri Lanka, and support them to achieve success within a highly competitiv­e corporate world.

Sharing her views on the significan­ce of the occasion, Shaweta Pandey–director Human Resources & Corporate Relations of Unilever Sri Lanka noted, “We at Unilever Sri Lanka are strongly committed towards nurturing young talent. Through our partnershi­p with the University of Sri Jayawarden­apura, we aim to provide a conducive environmen­t which can support young go-getters topursue their life goals with a strong resolve and confidence.

“Through the exposure to industry’s best practices and innovation, they will not only enjoyan early start but also will be career-ready by the time they graduate. We believe that the talent, skills and essential competenci­es garnered throughout the program will no doubt help them to successful­ly thrive in the corporate world.”

Expressing his views on the newly formed synergy, Prof. Sampath Amaratunge – Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jay award en a pu ra stated, “We are truly elated topartner with the country’s largest FMCG company: Unilever

Unilever has constantly supported and nurtured the growth of young talent time and again, and I believe this partnershi­p will become a pivotal catalyst to enhance the capacities of our talented students and help them gain the right exposure to become competent and versatile in their future endeavours.

With a mission to empower the nation’s future business leaders, Unilever has also partnered with NSBM University, SLITT, University of Kelaniya as well as AISEC, and has supported hundreds of young individual­s to steadfastl­y pursue their life goals.

Through its many affiliatio­ns, Unilever has continued to provide various programmes and platforms to train and groom selected undergradu­ates from affiliated institutio­ns.
