O/L Exam begins on Dec.2 at 4,987 centres: Exam Dept.

The Examinations Department yesterday announced the date the GCE Ordinary Level Examination will commence in December for the year 2019.

Commissioner General of Examinations B. Sanath Pujitha said the examination would be held from December 2 to

12 at 4,987 centres with 541 coordinating centres countrywide.

“All preparations for the examination were set and a total of 717,008 students comprising 433,050 school applicants and 282,958 private applicants will sit for the examinations,” the Commissioner said.

He said all students should bring with them a valid National Identity Card (NIC), a valid passport or a valid driver’s licence for the purpose of identification before entering the examination hall.

According to the instructions given by the Examinations Department, the candidates should come to the examination halls half-an-hour before the examination begins.the morning session of the examination will start at 8.30 a.m. and the evening session at 1.00 p.m.

Candidates who applied for their NICS during the recent few days, should bring the temporary certificate issued by Department of Registration of Persons. It will also be considered as a valid document to confirm the identity of students sitting for the examination, the Commissioner added.

“If anyone is found violating the regulation, complaints could be lodged at the nearest Police Station, the Examinations Department or to the following numbers,” he said.

The admission forms for the G.C.E. O/L Examination of private candidates had already been posted.

Any private candidate who had not received his/her admission forms for the 2019 O/L Examination, could obtain them through the Department’s website http://www.doenets.lk or contact the Examinations Department.
