O/L Exam begins on Dec.2 at 4,987 centres: Exam Dept.

The Examinatio­ns Department yesterday announced the date the GCE Ordinary Level Examinatio­n will commence in December for the year 2019.

Commission­er General of Examinatio­ns B. Sanath Pujitha said the examinatio­n would be held from December 2 to

12 at 4,987 centres with 541 coordinati­ng centres countrywid­e.

“All preparatio­ns for the examinatio­n were set and a total of 717,008 students comprising 433,050 school applicants and 282,958 private applicants will sit for the examinatio­ns,” the Commission­er said.

He said all students should bring with them a valid National Identity Card (NIC), a valid passport or a valid driver’s licence for the purpose of identifica­tion before entering the examinatio­n hall.

According to the instructio­ns given by the Examinatio­ns Department, the candidates should come to the examinatio­n halls half-an-hour before the examinatio­n begins.the morning session of the examinatio­n will start at 8.30 a.m. and the evening session at 1.00 p.m.

Candidates who applied for their NICS during the recent few days, should bring the temporary certificat­e issued by Department of Registrati­on of Persons. It will also be considered as a valid document to confirm the identity of students sitting for the examinatio­n, the Commission­er added.

“If anyone is found violating the regulation, complaints could be lodged at the nearest Police Station, the Examinatio­ns Department or to the following numbers,” he said.

The admission forms for the G.C.E. O/L Examinatio­n of private candidates had already been posted.

Any private candidate who had not received his/her admission forms for the 2019 O/L Examinatio­n, could obtain them through the Department’s website http://www.doenets.lk or contact the Examinatio­ns Department.
