Mclarens MD Awards 2019 recognises top achievements
Recognition of business excellence and appreciation of hard work has always been a practice Mclarens has lived by. With a history of 70 years, the journey of the Mclarens Group will always be dedicated to the Mclarens family, who time and time again, exceed expectations and raise the bar to a new level.
This year the Managing Director Awards recognised outstanding individuals, exceptional business performance by companies and sporting achievements.
The Mclarens Managing Director Awards was held at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo on November 10, 2019, where the event was graced by the company’s Chairman and wife, the chief guests for the evening, accompanied by the group’s joint managing directors, Shehara and Dinesh Jayawardana along with the Group CCO and COO Mahesh Kurukulasuriya and Oshan Fernando. The elegant affair commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp and welcome address by the Group’s Head of HR Sajeewa Suraweera.
Loyalty being one of the group’s core values, recognition was given through Long Service Awards to those who have stood by the Mclarens Group through thick and thin for 10,15, 20, 25, and 50 years. Understanding the significance in imparting and sharing knowledge across the group, internal trainers were presented with awards for their contributions to the group wide learning calendar. Individual Awards were presented to those who excelled in Leadership positions, Sales excellence, Operational brilliance, Technical and Engineering skills and more.
With a diverse collection of companies spread across a variety of sectors building up the Mclarens Group, company awards ranged from Overseas Sales Operation Awards and Financial Performances to Re-engineering/innovation Awards and Best Performing Company.
The group excels not only through business excellence, but also through sporting accomplishments. With the Health and Fitness calendar and the Mclarens Sports Club organising events such as the Mclarens Virtual Walk, Intercompany Badminton Tournament, Mclarens Duathlon and more, teams and individuals who performed exceptionally well were recognised and awarded for their talent. Having such a multi-skilled workforce, the entertainment for the evening was performed by none other than the group’s employees, who took to the stage and mesmerised the audience with their serene voices and their rhythmic dance moves.
By recognising, appreciating and acknowledging the Mclarens family for their undying hard work from the field to the boardroom, inspiring them to harness their true potential becomes a common practice. The impact and influence this has on productivity and efficiency is immeasurable and are later transformed in the group winning external industry awards in recognition of their capabilities and their triumphs.
