Drive One opens new Audi showroom...

Drive One (Pvt) Ltd, the authorised dealer foraudi vehicles in Sri Lanka, recently declared open a brand new showroom in the presence of Audi representa­tives and other distinguis­hed guests. The new Audi Colombo showroom is located at No 431, Nawala Road Nawala.

The celebratio­n reviewed the brand’s momentous journey in Sri Lanka over the past 70 years since its introducti­on to the island through its predecesso­r DKW and Auto Union. Certain models such as the DKW 3=6 Sonderklas­se Coupe and Auto Union 1000s Coupe are still preserved by rare car enthusiast­s to-date.

Since this introducti­on, Audi brand models such as the Audi A4 and Audi A6 have been well- appreciate­d in the recent past, while the Audi Q7 and the Audi Q2 are best sellers in the local market today.

At a media gathering held following the opening of the new showroom, Drive One officials detailed the company’s vision for 2020 and the new strategic direction for Audi, the most progressiv­e premium automobile brand in the world. Keeping true to its philosophy, Audi prides itself on its eye-catching designs and customizat­ions, while offering premium luxurious features and innovation­s that boost the level of comfort and convenienc­e to its loyal clientele.

Drive One (Pvt) Ltd aims to be the most customer-centric automobile company in Sri Lanka in reflection of the aforementi­oned principles of Audi. Since its commenceme­nt, the company has offered the latest product rangein accordance with the local fuel, climate and road conditions. The company has invested heavily on recruitmen­t, training and developmen­t, and new infrastruc­tureto meet the needs of its clients.

The new state-of-the-art showroom facility at Nawala comprises 3 floors and has been built according to Audi global standards using materials sourced from Audi-approved suppliers. Created with careful attention to detail from the layout to the ambience, the facility is aimed at providing a unique experience to all Audi enthusiast­s. The soon-to-be opened 100,000sq.ft workshop facility at Wattala is also built in line with Audi global standards and will raise the bar in automotive servicing industry in Sri Lanka.

Looking to the future, Drive One revealed plans to unveil the new Audi Q3, Audi A6 and Audi Q7 to the local market in 2020. Following the success of the Audi Q2 (a compact SUV), considered a best seller in Sri Lanka, the Audi Q3 is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV that checks most boxes with its many desirable standard features. The eightgener­ation Audi A6 is also set to arrive on our shores in 2020, complete with added innovation­s in terms of digitisati­on, comfort and sportiness; in addition to the new Audi Q7 with updated exterior styling, more technology features and a fuel-efficient engine.

The brand, which is known for its continuous innovation, has led the way in recent years in the fields of autonomous driving technology, electric mobility, digital connectivi­ty and sustainabi­lity.

The flagship Audi A8 is the first production car to reach level 3 autonomous driving, while Audi has been at the forefront of reshaping the future with electric mobility. The Audi e-tron is the first fully-electric series production modelby thebrand. The sporty SUV combines the space and comfort of a typical luxury class automobile with a range exceeding 400km on a single charge.

Since making its debut in March 2019, the Audi e-tron has sold over 18,000 units globally and the company plans to introduce 30 fully-electric and plugin hybrids models by 2025. Audi has also been prioritizi­ng sustainabi­lity by aiming to reducing the CO2 footprint of all Audi models by 30 percent over its entire lifecycle by 2025, and to become completely Co2-neutral by 2050.
