Wurth celebrates 20 years of success in Sri Lanka

Wurth Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, the German based automotive aftermarke­t products company which started its operations 20 years ago with a single employee celebrated its 20th year of successful operations in Sri Lanka a few days ago.

Since its inception, Wurth Lanka has grown to 120 employees with its own state-ofthe-art office and stores complex in Makumbura in Pannipitiy­a, 3 divisions supporting 3,500 product lines, 4 pick-up shops in Nugegoda, Pannipitiy­a, Negombo and Kurunegala, a distribute­d network of partners and dealers, and most importantl­y a large, active and loyal customer base of over 5,500.

“We are extremely happy with the progress that we have made from our humble beginnings. I take this opportunit­y to thank Wurth Gmbh of Germany, our parent company for their unstinted support, confidence and guidance, and our employees without whose commitment we could not have achieved our goals,” said Rohan Amirthiah – Managing Director, Wurth Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.

“Our main focus remains to ensure that customer needs are understood and met in a timely fashion. In order to achieve this goal, two-thirds of the employee-base comprises of Sales and Marketing staff” he added.

The first product umbrella to be introduced in the year 2000 was the automotive products division. Ten years later, the Constructi­on division was added to the portfolio. The latest product line to be added to the Company was the Metal Maintenanc­e division in 2015.

To celebrate this milestone achievemen­t of 20 years of successful presence in Sri Lanka, Wurth Lanka is planning a range of engagement events throughout the year to touch base with the company’s customers, suppliers and all stakeholde­rs across the country.

Being an active Company that supports a wide variety of sporting events, motoring and non-motoring, Wurth Lanka will also host their first ever Golf Tournament in the first half of 2020, where profession­al golfers from Sri Lanka and overseas will be invited to participat­e. More details of this will be released in due course.

Wurth Lanka prides itself on it’s innovative thinking and introducin­g a new or improved product finely tuned to the conditions of the country and the market every year. The year 2020 will see the re-launch of the automotive coolants line with three categories, namely Premium which suits a wide variety of vehicles, hybrid that is designed for use by hybrid vehicles and Inverter, a specialize­d formulatio­n for cooling the electronic inverter that is a key piece of equipment in electric and hybrid vehicles.
