Sixteen top German decision makers attend

For the first time the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka) organized a Ceodinner in the presence of State Minister Rambukwell­a, German Ambassador in Sri Lanka Jörn Rohde, Dr. Stephan Hesselmann -Head of Unit Transport Policy and mobility Concepts of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy- and 16 top decision makers of the German companies in Sri Lanka on January 28.

As the official host and moderator of the evening Chief Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka Andreas Hergenröth­er stated: ”We organised tonight’s dinner to offer a platform for German Investors to discuss about their current investment­s in Sri Lanka and further investment opportunit­ies. In a recently conducted business confidence survey by AHK Sri Lanka about 30% of the German companies announced to have concrete investment plans for 2020. More than 80% of the respondent­s identified the reliabilit­y of the legal framework as their major challenge. As the official representa­tive of

German business in Sri Lanka we are strongly committed to fair and free trade, a level playing field, transparen­cy and rule of law”.

Among the participat­ing companies were world market leaders such as Allianz, DHL, Linde, Continenta­l, Siemens, Fresenius, Deutsche Bank, Ftitourist­ik, MTU, MAN Energy Solutions, Bbraun, Haefele and Mercmarine. AHK Sri Lanka has started to organize Ceo-dinners with Sri Lankan politician­s such as Former Hon Minister Malik Samarawick­rama two years ago in order to fulfil its function as catalysato­r of German business towards Sri Lankan institutio­ns. AHK Sri Lanka is part of the German Chamber network of 142 offices worldwide.
