MILEY CYRUS will headline Australian bushfire relief concert

Miley Cyrus will headline a bushfire relief concert at Melbourne’s Lakeside Stadium on March 13, ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.

The 27-year-old singer will be joined by an allstar lineup, including rapper Lil Nas X, British DJ Seb Fontaine and pop duo The Veronicas.

Tickets for the World Tour Bushfire Relief fundraiser go on sale on Tuesday via Ticketek, with prices starting at $116. Miley said in a statement: ‘Australia! I’m so excited to announce I’m headlining the World Tour Bushfire Relief charity concert on Friday, March 13 in Melbourne.

‘Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Australian charities working to restore forests, wildlife and communitie­s affected by the devastatin­g fires.’

The American pop star has a personal connection to Australia. During her marriage to Liam Hemsworth, Miley would often stay with his family in Byron Bay, NSW, and also spent time in Victoria. Miley is now in a relationsh­ip with singersong­writer Cody Simpson, who hails from Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Cody, who lives in the U.S., revealed in January that he felt ‘helpless’ watching the bushfire crisis worsen back home in Australia. ‘Watching my home burn from across the sea... I feel helpless. But there are ways we can all help,’ he wrote on Instagram during a trip to Colorado.the World Tour Bushfire Relief fundraiser follows the Fire Fight Australia charity concert, which took place at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on February 16. All 70,000 tickets for Fire Fight sold out within 24 hours. Headline acts included Queen + Adam Lambert, Olivia Newton John and Alice Cooper. The 10hour event, hosted by comedian and activist Celeste Barber, raised $9million for bushfire relief.
