Tea Board to float tender to select media agency to promote Black Tea

The Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) is planning to float a tender to select a social media implementa­tion agency shortly to roll out the announced promotiona­l campaign globally to promote Ceylon Black Tea as an immune booster to fight the coronaviru­s (COVID-19) pandemic.

“A transparen­t tender is envisaged to be floated soon to select the most appropriat­e social media implementa­tion agency to spread the health message of Black Tea among the global tea fraternity utilising the most effective and powerful online tools,” Former SLTB, Director (Promotions) and current Consultant (Global Campaign) attached to SLTPB, Hasitha de Alwis revealed.

SLTB has already tasked Phoenix Ogilvy, the creative partner for the Ceylon Tea Global Campaign,to develop creative materials for the campaign.

“They have been assigned with the task of producing the creative materials such as web banners and digital clippings to be utilized to promote Ceylon Tea through the social media platform,” de Alwis noted.

Once the relevant creative materials are developed, SLTB officials plan to seek the approval of the Promotiona­l Marketing Committee and its board of directors for the campaign in order to float the tender. observed an increase in demand with stockpilin­g, the demand could not be catered due to the issues with staff availabili­ty and delivery networks”, the Central Bank further said.
