Don’t disband home delivery services!

-

Initially supermarkets came to the rescue of the people by providing orders on line and a door to door delivery service during the curfew period which was a great boon to all the people. Small grocers, vegetable corner shops, fish vendors, vegetable vendors, bakers also obtained permits to provide this service after some time. Friendly home delivery services made us stay indoors safely but still be supplied with basic necessities and it was very popular among the people. Pharmacies also provided us with a superb life-saving delivery service to our homes.

Now the curfew is going to end - all things are impermanent as preached by Buddha. Even if the curfew is over, if the home delivery service is available in parallel to normal marketing, it will help people who hate travelling/driving to supermarkets, including the seniors. In India this service is very popular as small grocery/vegetable shops have one or two push cyclists for delivery purposes. Only issue here is that this should be better streamlined by allocating a customer ID number which could be easily computerized/orders traced/orders taken on line direct to the computer or through smart phones Apps. Delivery was carried by support services of super markets, they could also reap benefits, if delivery service continues.

Our appreciation and congratulations to all concerned traders, supermarkets and their staff who helped us to stay indoors safely during the recent Corona fear. May God Bless you all and keep you healthy and happy!
