Piumi Adorning Cakes With Passion

-

Cake-making is certainly not a cakewalk. It requires commitment, hard work and of course outstanding skills. Imali Piumika Perera who is well known as Piumi Perera in glamour circles, has earned a trustworthy name among all her clients including celebrities, largely for her passion and uniqueness in cake making for all occasions.

Piumi who had been in Australia where she obtained her degree in accounting, gave up her career to serve her clients with delicious and wholesome cakes.

“This is my passion. After marrying Sashi Halneththi, I decided to develop this skill influenced by what I had seen in other countries. By the way, my husband Sashi also gave up his illustrious IT career to pursue this field of offering people with clean, delicious and nutritious food. He opened ‘Hubby’s Kitchen’ in Panadura recently which is becoming very popular,” said Piumi who is armed with a Hotel Management Diploma from a prestigious school in Singapore and three years’ career experience in the bakery industry in Melbourne.

“Besides the best ingredients I choose for my cakes, my cakes are special because I also put my heart and soul into them. Many happy clients say that my sugar-dough flowers look so real. That’s because I spend hours to make them so natural. The hardwork we put in to make the cake creations so elegant and wholesome takes days. Many of my clients are happy about the customised cakes I do to suit their tastes and purses. For kids we create one of a kind birthday cakes with their favourite cartoon characters, toys or animals. I am glad that I have repeat clients. My FB page ‘The House of Cakes – by Piumi Perera’ says it all. I also conduct classes for passionate people interested in this field. I have a high regard for veterans Mr. Clement and Ms. Mallika Joseph for their contributions to enrich this field in a professional manner though I have never met them in person. My next dream is to start venturing into décor and other related spheres so that my clients can get all services required for a function under one roof, she said.
