Havoline upgraded to meet latest API SN Plus performance specifications

Havoline passenger car motor oil product range, which includes Havoline PRODS fully synthetic ECO 5 series and Havoline Formula series, is upgraded to meet the modern car engine lubrication demands to mitigate Low speed pre-ignition (LSPI) and deliver proven enhanced fuel efficiency, engine performance, and prolonged engine life.

Car Motor Oil product range was specially reformulated to meet the industry’s latest classification API SN Plus performance standard and to meet the new demand in the market.

LSPI is a premature combustion event, occurring prior to spark ignition in turbocharged, downsized petrol vehicles. As the name implies, it occurs when engines operate at low speeds and high loads. It can result in extremely high cylinder-pressures and can lead to heavy knocks. Repeated exposure to these conditions can cause engine hardware failure, including broken spark plugs and cracked pistons. Petrol vehicle population in Sri Lanka has grown over the recent past and downsized, turbo charged engines has been the most significant. While these engines provide higher power density and improved efficiency, they are also prone to LSPI. As such, mitigating pre-ignition involves altering the design of the engine ordesign of the engine oil to help avoid this emerging issue.

The Havoline product range is upgraded to meetapi SN plus standard especially formulated to address the harmful effects of LSPI, whilst to improve fuel efficiency and deliver superior performance.

Havoline’s proprietary “deposit shield” technology provides protection to the engine from harmful deposits to ensure longer engine life.

Havoline products upgraded to meet API SN plus standard includes Havoline Formula range available in the viscosity grades SAE 10W-30, 15W40 and Havoline PRODS Fully Synthetic ECO 5 range available in the viscosity grades SAE 0W-16, 0W-20 and 5W-30.

The new range is available in new packaging island wide through Caltex authorized dealers and leading lubricant selling outlets.
