Dasa Maha Dosha that spell failure or doom

Fine-tuning Muhurta – Part 2

In our article on the above subject last week, we explained that if a Muhurta selected is to be propitious, it should be free from tenfold blemishes or evil yoga - called Dasa Maha Dosha. The Dasa Maha Dosha are:

1. Rikta 2. Vishti 3. Dagdha

4. Kaana 5. Mara 6. Visha

7. Agni 8. Shakata 9. Bhumi Shraka and 10. Soola. In that article we explained the Doshas Rikta, Vishti and Dagdha. We propose to explain the other Doshas in this article. In the last article we explained the instances where Tithis become Dagdha when they coincide with certain week days and constellations and when they coincide with certain week days and Tithis.

Certain Tithis too become Dagdha when they fall on certain week days in certain Solar months as follows:

Satavaka falling in the Solar month of Aries, Jalavaka falling in the Solar month of Taurus Atavaka falling in the Solar month of Gemini Dasavaka falling in the Solar month of Cancer

Satavaka falling in the Solar month of Leo Amawaka falling in the Solar month of Virgo Dolosvaka falling in the Solar month of Libra Dasavaka falling in the Solar month of Scorpio

Diyavaka falling in the month of Sagittarius Dolosvaka falling in the Solar month of Capricorn

Jalavaka falling in the Solar month of Aquarius and

Diyavaka falling in the Solar month of Pisces If a marriage is conducted when the Dagdha operates, the bride would become a widow early. If one who goes on a journey when the Dagdha is in operation, one would either meet with death or other similar misfortune. If a construction of a building gets underway when the Dagdha operates its work would come to a sudden halt due to threat of fire. If a house warming is done when Dagdha operates, the occupants may face some calamity. Kaana: Certain constellations would get Kaana Dosha when they fall on certain days as follows:

Muvasirasa or Anura falling on a Sunday Kati and Utrasal falling on Monday, Denata and Siyawasa falling on Tuesday Asvida and Berana falling on Wednesday Muvasirasa and Puvapal on Thursday and Hata and Revati on Saturday
