CIMA Taxation course commences on September 26

The popular annual Taxation course organised by CIMA for its members and other profession­als will commence on September 26.

This year’s CIMA mastercour­se on Taxation will feature a detailed analysis of the Income Tax Act which is now imperative to taxpayers, with emphasis on the proposed changes to the Income Tax Act such as removal of WHT and the introducti­on of alternativ­e WHT scheme, new exemptions and the transition­al adjustment­s for the year of assessment 2019/2020.

Further, the course will focus on recent changes on

Value Added tax and the removal of Nation Building tax and Economic Service Charge including the impact of such changes.

The course will also cover the imposition of Stamp Duty and certain other tax implicatio­ns under Finance Acts.

The taxation course which runs for ten Saturdays attracts participan­ts from various profession­s and from all parts of the island. Participan­ts have the opportunit­y to gain first-hand knowledge of Sri Lanka Taxation from experts in the industry.
