The tantalising show, which is set to air on Alibi, is not your run of the mill crime drama as it is tied in with the eerie supernatural and laden with complex detail. Evil ticks boxes for all crime and horror fans, with a combination of mystery solving, supernatural spooks and nailbiting cliffhangers, meaning this will be the hottest show coming to UK TV screens in coming months.
The show – made by The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King – is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion.
The series focuses on a sceptical female psychologist Kristen Bouchard, played by Katja Herbers, who joins trainee-priest David Acosta (played by Mike Colter), and a contractor Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi) as they investigate the Catholic Church's backlog of unexplained mysteries.

One half of the husband and wife duo, Michelle King, said: ‘I wouldn't call it a sci-fi show. However, it does touch on the metaphysical and there are elements of mystery and horror. ‘The primary theme is, “How do you explain evil? What is the cause of it?” Do you explain it supernaturally through religion or do you explain it through human psychology?'
Her husband, Robert, continues: ‘I think we all have some bad in us and it's about battling that bad away – but there's also some supernatural presence in our lives and we're always struggling with it. Even if that turns out to be not true, it's a good metaphor to live your life around and that's what the characters are about, too. ‘
