TARA Pascale Germani
Wearing many hats including that of interior designer, spatial stylist, yoga teacher and jewellery designer, Tara is the Creator and Art Director of SATVRN. Growing up in Australia in a jewellery family, Tara studied at the Gemological Institute of America(gia) 2005 / Enmore Design School (Sydney) Australia. Her eyes quickly became accustomed to fine and rare objects.
A love for form was soon eclipsed bya sensitivity for the formless. She moved to Sri Lanka in 2012 and started creating the Satvrn story in 2015 out of her family home in Kandy. Satvrn can be found at her favourite boutiques on the island where you will often find her delighting in the creative company of other emerging talented activists.
? WHAT INSPIRED THE PIECES YOU CREATED?
The mystical nature of vedic astrology, sacred geometry and mythical stories about gods, goddess and planets.
? WHO IS YOUR MUSE?
Satvrn realizes there is a divine connection between the natural and super natural realms, combining precious gems and metals with healing
vibrational energy and intentions.
? WHAT IS YOU DESIGN ETHOS?
By locally sourcing our stones and materials we celebrate the wondrous capacity of our island's resources and through inviting a deeper sense of inquiry into our inner landscape, outer environment and astral potential, we hope to inspire a more luminous experience for all we come into contact with here on earth.
? WHAT ARE YOUR SUSTAINABILITY CREDENTIALS?
We do what we can. We only choose to work with local artisans and use recycled precious metals as much as possible.
? HOW HAS YOUR FEMININE IDENTITY BEEN PORTRAYED THROUGH YOUR COLLECTIONS
Through studying the Sister sciences (Yoga, Ayurveda & Astrology) Satvrn reminds the wearer to go beyond their own humanness by mindfully tapping into their own sacred bodies and intuition by honouring divine feminine aspects and archetypes, found in all of our collections.
