This had been first set up at the university in 2010, with the initiation of Samson International PLC and Samson Compounds (Pvt.) Ltd, which are also sister companies of DSI Samson Group and have been continuing their activities for the last 10 years. The activities of this incubator focus on rubber product and process development work and funded by DSI Group of Companies.

DSI recognises that a strong collaboration between industry and academia is necessary to significantly enhance the innovation entrepreneurship culture of the country. Creative thinking and an innovative mind-set are important for economic growth and technological advancement of Sri Lanka. And also we facilitate fine-tuned industry experience for the academic students with knowledge plus industry experience.

The University of Moratuwa has been considered as the best technological university in the country and this is an ideal partnership, which facilitates a platform to conduct research and development activities for the group.

This exposes industry researchers to new research trends, advance technical and analytical approaches and novel experimental techniques. They can identify improvements in processes and develop new products driven by new technologies and help to meet the challenges of the price competition and conscious global market.
