Cisco affirms commitment to assist Sri Lanka’s digital transformation journey
Multinational technology conglomerate, Cisco, affirmed its continuous commitment to boost Sri Lanka’s digital transformation efforts so that local businesses will be able to uplift their resilience.
The US headquartered entity stated that with the pandemic having re-shaped business operational models, the island nation stands to benefit from the arising opportunities, provided that it plays right.
“The country is on a digital transformation drive and to capitalise on that Sri Lanka needs to increase its focus on innovation and invest at the right time, at the right place. They need to look at being more disruptive,” said Cisco SAARC Managing Director Sudhir Nayar to Mirror Business via an online meeting yesterday morning.
While efforts are underway gear up to the transformation drive, it is imperative for the businesses to increase emphasis on re-skilling employees so they know to adapt to the fast changing operative environment, he said.
“Businesses have to be ready. Many of the companies here supporting global businesses and they don’t understand down time. The business has to still run regardless of the global turmoil. The continuous running and innovation is what we all should be worried about,” added Nayar.
To enable organisations to transition into the ‘new normal’ in seamless manner, Nayar announced the launch of Cisco’s new ‘Resilient Distributed Enterprise’ portfolio.
As part of the new portfolio, Cisco introduced Securex, an easy-to-use, cloud-native platform that unifies visibility across companies’ security portfolio, including detection of unknown threats and policy violations through security analytics for more informed actions.
Furthermore, Cisco is also enabling access to Intersight Workload Optimizer, an Ai-powered, software-as-a-service platform that offers an intelligent level of management and allows organizations to simplify and automate IT operations.
Through Intersight, firms can gain visibility to their full stack – from infrastructure to apps – on-premise and in the cloud, while optimizing costs, performance, and compliance in real-time.
With the new range, Cisco will be doubling down on its partner engagements and expanding its Networking Academy program to empower Sri Lanka’s businesses in the next normal and help achieve the government’s vision of a digitally inclusive and sustainable nation.
According to Nayar, this latest offering has been designed with the needs of the dynamic and nimble enterprise of the future in mind, augmented by Cisco’s vast experience and expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and security.
He shared that through the initiative, along with an extensive partner ecosystem to ensure maximum reach, Cisco aims to empower Sri Lanka’s businesses to win in the new world.
