Treasury Sec. stipulates seven priorities for 2021 estimates

The heads of the institutio­n were required to strengthen of workforce of all the ministries, regional and rural project offices

The Secretary to the Treasury S.h.attygalle has instructed the Secretarie­s of all the ministries and state ministries, heads of the department­s and corporatio­ns and statutory boards to give priority for seven factors in preparing the budget estimates for the year 2021.

Empowermen­t of low-income earning families, developmen­t of rural economy, providing housing facilities, achieving progress in reforms of education and skill developmen­t, infrastruc­ture facility developmen­t, encouragin­g small and medium scale local manufactur­ers and producers with a view to increase the volume of their production ,developmen­t of rural road network, are the seven priorities stipulated by the Treasury.

In addition the heads of the institutio­n were required to ensure the establishm­ent and strengthen­ing of workforce of all the ministries, regional and rural project offices in order to cater to the need of empowering the rural lifestyle, economy of agricultur­e, as those areas had been identified inseparabl­e from the overall developmen­t of the country.
