Nabbed with coun­ter­feit cur­rency bills

A busi­ness­man, who had in his pos­ses­sion 39 coun­ter­feit Rs. 5,000 cur­rency bills had been ar­rested by the Ududum­bara Po­lice dur­ing a raid on the sus­pect’s house.

“A com­puter and other equip­ment used in the racket and eight cel­lu­lar phones be­long­ing to the sus­pect had also been seized,” .

“In­ves­ti­ga­tions re­vealed that the sus­pect had been car­ry­ing on the racket for a long time,” A senior Po­lice of­fi­cer said that the sus­pect was a wealthy busi­ness­man run­ning sev­eral en­ter­prises in Ududum­bara town and well­known as a pri­vate money lender.

A po­lice team un­der OIC Ududum­abara Po­lice CI M.D. Kan­nan­gara car­ried out the raid on the in­struc­tions of DIG Chan­dana Ala­hakoon and Senior DIG Lalith Pathi­nayake.
