Nabbed with counterfeit currency bills

A businessman, who had in his possession 39 counterfeit Rs. 5,000 currency bills had been arrested by the Ududumbara Police during a raid on the suspect’s house.

“A computer and other equipment used in the racket and eight cellular phones belonging to the suspect had also been seized,” .

“Investigations revealed that the suspect had been carrying on the racket for a long time,” A senior Police officer said that the suspect was a wealthy businessman running several enterprises in Ududumbara town and wellknown as a private money lender.

A police team under OIC Ududumabara Police CI M.D. Kannangara carried out the raid on the instructions of DIG Chandana Alahakoon and Senior DIG Lalith Pathinayake.
