Genie revolution­izes education payment mechanism in Sri Lanka

Powered by Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivi­ty provider, Genie, Sri Lanka’s first PCI-DSScertifi­ed payment app, has extended its seamless service to parents, students, and administra­tive bodies in the education sector for a convenient system in securing academic payments for their services digitally.

Dialog is at the forefront of Fintech products since 2012, and by extending its service to the expansive education sector it provides merchants and customers the convenienc­e and ease of making payments via Genie.

Most recently, Pay-by-genie has facilitate­d leading schools and educationa­l institutes in the country such as Wesley College, National Institute of Business Management (NIBM), Negombo South Internatio­nal

College and Inspiro Business School with t heir administra­tive, term and course fees. Genie has further extended its virtual payment service to e-learning platforms Notes. lk and Cloud Smart Schools to administer similar periodical payments.

Additional­ly, the Old Boys Union of Isipathana College and Bandaranay­ake College have also adopted this pay-on-the-go service allowing them to create a linear method for convenient payment transactio­ns made towards their respective Unions.

By onboarding merchants from the academic sector Genie has seen their efforts reach new heights in financial inclusivit­y, all the while giving academic and administra­tive staff and payers an added benefit of operating a simple user interface to secure critical payments from anywhere at any time.
