Min­uwan­goda Brandix em­ploy­ees urged to re­main in their homes

Po­lice cur­few was im­posed in the Gam­paha po­lice area from 6.00 p.m.yes­ter­day un­til fur­ther no­tice,western Prov­ince Senior DIG De­sha­bandu Ten­nakoon said.

Ear­lier, it was im­posed in Divu­lapi­tiya, Min­uwan­goda and Veyan­goda po­lice ar­eas.

He said long-dis­tance buses would be al­lowed travel across cur­few ar­eas with­out stop­ping in the cur­few ar­eas and strict ac­tion would be taken against those who vi­o­late the cur­few.

Mean­while, the gov­ern­ment urged all Min­uwan­goda Brandix em­ploy­ees and their fam­i­lies to re­main in their homes, no mat­ter which part of Sri Lanka they lived in and mea­sures had been taken by the Army to move those who had come into con­tact with COVID-19 in­fected work­ers of the Min­uwan­goda ap­parel fac­tory to quar­an­tine cen­tres.
